What is Chinese Uppercase Currency?

Chinese uppercase numerals (大写数字) are a set of special Chinese characters used to write numbers in formal financial documents. They were developed to prevent fraud by making numbers harder to alter. They are mandatory on checks, bank transfers, invoices, and legal contracts in China.

When to Use Uppercase Numbers?

Uppercase numbers are required for: bank checks and money orders, financial statements and accounting documents, legal contracts and agreements, invoices and receipts for formal transactions, and any official document involving monetary amounts.

Conversion Rules

The converter follows standard RMB formatting rules: trailing zeros are handled with '整' suffix, decimal values use '角' (0.1) and '分' (0.01), and continuous zeros are properly condensed. Maximum supported value is up to trillions (万亿).
